Change – New Life

Change begins on April 27, 2025 – on my 50th birthday. I actually started my daily rituals quite some time ago. Every morning during breakfast and every evening before going to bed, I sit down and write down what I’m grateful for.

Gratitude Ritual

At first, it feels a bit strange, because you really start thinking about what you can be grateful for. But it’s as simple as breathing.

I’ve gathered a few tools for my new journey. Some I’ve had at home for a few years, others I’ve picked up over the past three months. To keep track of my daily gratitude, I started with a regular A5 school notebook — but it filled up quickly. So I searched for a journal on Temu and found the perfect book for me.

I find it perfect for this ritual – it’s always within reach, either in the kitchen or at my workspace.

To make my day a bit more intentional, I draw one card from my Happy Mantra to go set and two from my Gratitude Cards set. These cards help me see the day in a more positive light — especially on days when I’m not in the best mood, which of course happens from time to time. Change takes courage and consistent rituals for the future.

About two years ago, I bought a magazine that included a kind of DIY advent calendar. That’s how I ended up with 24 quotes meant to help me find peace with myself. Progress has been slow, because I don’t always see myself clearly — or maybe because I lack the trust in life that I truly need. That’s also why I’m writing this blog. Through writing, I hope to gain clarity.

And last but not least, I draw two more cards from another magazine — each one with a question on it. What I like about them is that they require you to really reflect in order to answer.

Today on my birthday, I’m grateful for my family, my husband, and my friends. I’m happy and thankful for the challenges I faced today.

My mantras for today:

  • I trust the flow of life.
  • HAPPINESS is the sum of beautiful moments. *(Happy Mantra to go!)*
  • Do what you want — not because you have to. *– Buddha* *(Gratitude Mantra)*
  • ॐ मणि पद्मे हम                 Om Mani Padme Hum >> OM, the jewel in the lotus. << (Gratitude Mantra)

A mantra of compassion and love. Repeating or chanting each syllable is said to help break free from negative thought patterns. It opens the heart, allowing you to view yourself and others with kindness once again.

My questions for April 27, 2025:

  1. How do I want to grow personally?
  2. When were you brave today?
  3. What change do you wish for?

Very good questions! Here are my answers:

  1. I want to rebuild my trust in life. I want to strengthen my sense of appreciation, because I tend to put myself down far too often. And I can feel how much that’s been harming me on a personal level.
  2. Oh, I was very brave today. I wrote this text and made it public so that anyone can read it. I created a video with AI for my Facebook friends and uploaded a very personal video that only my friends can see.
  3. I wish to rediscover my goals in life and move toward them step by step. Right now, there’s nothing that truly drives me — and that’s exactly why I made the decision to take action.
