Finding Your Center
Finding Your Center – Small World – Small Home
We find beautiful shapes and colors all throughout nature, yet we’re often so focused on the outside that we don’t even notice the most obvious details. Let’s take a closer look at a snail shell. It’s probably the most perfect spiral we can find. What fascinates me about it is this: Even though we tend to think snails are slow, I’m always surprised at how fast they actually are. And no matter where they go, they always carry their home with them. Snails are at home everywhere.

We humans also carry our own little snail shell deep within us – our own inner world, our inner home. Not everyone is aware of it or able to feel it, but it shows itself whenever we feel truly comfortable in a place – whether that’s at home or somewhere far away on vacation. It can also be a specific spot we return to again and again – in nature, or wherever it may be.
It’s a place that gives you a sense of comfort – a true feel-good place. That’s exactly when you can feel your own little inner world. That’s when you’re centered – and nothing can throw you off track.
So how do you find that little inner world?

Find out for yourself where you feel most comfortable. There are different places where we feel especially at ease. Discover those places – and become aware of the feeling you have when you're there. The more often you go to those places, the more clearly you’ll be able to recognize that feeling. As the saying goes: Practice makes perfect. And if, over time, you manage to bring that feeling into your daily life, things will begin to shift. You’ll find your center – and from there, nothing can throw you off balance.
My inspiration for this post came from magazine Herzstück. (Link – German website).
